اس کے چہرے پر بکھری اُداس سی خاموشی نے اسے جارحانہ انداز ترک کر کے نرمی اختیار کرنے پر مجبور کیا تھا۔
“تم مجھ سے کیوں بھاگ رہی ہو دانیا! ایسا کیا ہو گیا ہے جو تمہیں مجھ سے دور بھاگنے پر مجبور کر رہا ہے۔”
اس کے اس نرمی بھرے سوال نے اسے بُری طرح نروس کر دیا تھا۔ اسنے اپنے قدموں یک رفتار بڑھا کر اس سے آگے ہو جانا چاہا۔
“میری بات کا جواب دو تم۔”
اس کا ہاتھ پکڑ کر روک لیا اور خود بھی رک گیا۔
“میں آپ سے کوئی بات نہیں کرنا چاہتی۔ مجھے گھر جانا ہے۔”
اس نے اپنا ہاتھ چھڑانے کی کوشش کی۔
“سڑک پر تماشا بن رہا ہے۔”
اپنی کوشش کی ناکامی کے بعد کچھ عاجز آ کر اس نے رونی آواز میں کہا۔
“میں تو صرف سڑک پر ہی تماشا بن رہا ہوں ۔ تم نے تو میری پوری زندگی کو تماشا بنا کر رکھ دیا ہے۔”
