اس نے اس کے چہرے پر نگاہ ڈالے بغیر کیس اس کے پہلو میں رکھنا چاہا جب رکھائی سے کہتی اسے ٹوک گئی تھی۔
“ مجھے اس کی ضرورت نہیں بلکہ مجھے کسی بھی چیز کی ضرورت نہیں ہے۔”
اس نے ٹھنڈا سانس بھرا اور ایک خجالت سے بھر پور نگاہ اس کے تنے ہوئے نقوش پر ڈالتے ہوئے کیس اس کی گود میں رکھنا چاہا تھا، جب وہ بدک کر اچھل کر دور ہوئی تھی۔
“ڈونٹ ٹچ می انڈر اسٹینڈ۔”
اہانت آمیز لہجہ حقارت لیے ہوئے تھا۔
“ مجرم ہوں تمہارا جو غلطی ہوئی ہے اس کی تلافی گو ممکن نہیں مگر ! میں تمہیں خوش رکھوں گا۔ تم بھول جاؤ اس بات کو اور مجھے معاف کر دو۔”
“معاف کردوں تمہیں اور بھول جاؤں یہ اتنا آسان نہیں ہے مسٹر!”
وہ چھیدتی ہوئی نظروں سے اسے گھورتی حلق کے بل غرائی تو اس اس کی آواز کے بلند والیوم سے گھبرا کر اسے دیکھنے لگا۔
“آہستہ پلیز اماں نے سن لیا تو؟”
“ہاں تم تو چھپاؤ گے ہی اپنے اس گناہ کو مگر یادرکھو میں تمہیں سکون سے نہیں رہنے دوں گی۔ جو زخم تم نے مجھے دیا ہے وہ بھی بھرنے والا نہیں، مگر میں تم سے دن رات اس کا خراج وصول کروں گی۔ یاد رکھنا۔”
وہ انگلی اٹھا کر پھنکاری تو ٹھٹک سا گیا اور کچھ پھٹی پھٹی آنکھوں سے اس کا روپ دیکھنے لگا۔
